TRACK TIME

12/1/08 - Asphalt Ventures
Another instructing opportunity for VIR Full course. It rained in the morning, but dried off quickly for a day of driving on a very cold track (~40 degrees and windy). Although a bit slick all day, it was a great event put on by a top-notch group.

11/10/08 - Wicks Driving Academy
My second Instructing stint with this group. The weather was beautiful, and I got to run VIR's South Course for the first time after recent engine mods.

5/28/08 - Ferris Bueller's Day Off...
THSCC rented VIR Full Course on Wed. and Thur., so I took a day off and went to the track. Even though it rained most of the day, it was still fun, and I got some good video..

Feb 9th and 10th was the debut for this car, not to compete, but just to stretch it out a bit. I ran in the advanced group at Virginia International Raceway at THSCC/TZC's annual "Full Course" event.

This is an amazing circuit, 3.27 miles, with lots of elevation changes, long straights and turns of every sort. I will be taking it rather easy with this unfamiliar car on street tires, but looking forward to a good time.

VIR Full Course Event - 2/9 - 2/10
I was only able to stay for Saturday's HPDE, spent the day with a good friend and great instructor, Mark S., whom I played in a local band with 20+ years ago.... They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so, here's a couple thousand to show how my first track day went with my new MINI....



What a blast!! The weather was PERFECT, the car performed beautifully, and I didn't hit anything or break anything......
